One of the classiest styles of tungsten carbide ring is the beveled variety. This is because it adds a little accent to a traditional polished band without overdoing it and becoming gaudy. One of the better beveled tungsten rings I’ve come across recently was presented by Larson Jewelers. This ring was great because it really captured the elegance which a beveled tungsten ring is capable of. I’ve got an image of this beautiful piece below so that you can see just how precious it is.

This tungsten carbide ring is better than most because of the satin-like finish which sits between the beveled edges. This lends a certain class to the ring that many simply beveled designs lack. Since the entire ring is composed of tungsten, it has the excellent physical properties and longevity that this kind of material is known for. This places it above other tungsten rings which attempt to add to the style by including weaker precious metals. This particular beveled tungsten carbide ring stands as one of the best in its class due to its simple elegance, grace, and charm.

It’s not every day that you come across a fantastic looking tungsten wedding band that really blows you away. But recently I had the pleasure of looking upon an Oracle tungsten ring from Forever Metals that stole my breath. This beautiful piece of metalworking is absolutely stunning. The Oracle is a tungsten ring made with a nickel alloy, so no worries about harmful cobalt binders need to be addressed. The elegant workings of the carved details are simply beautiful. Take a look at the ring below and ask yourself why you wouldn’t want to see something that beautiful every day for the rest of your life.

The design of the carvings is known as a celtic knot. The symbolism of eternal bonds represented by traditional tungsten carbide rings is enhanced even further by this design. This makes it absolutely ideal as a tungsten carbide wedding band. Every time you gaze upon the luscious luster of this ring it’ll be hard to keep from remembering the timeless vows you made on your wedding day. With elegance, symbolism, charm, and grace, the Oracle is definitely a worthy tungsten ring, and one I recommend you look into if you’re in the market for a wedding band.

Let’s face it, there are many materials out there well known as established trademarks of beauty and affluence. Gold and silver have been used in jewelry since the Egyptians were building pyramids in 4000B.C., and copper’s been around since even before that! These metals have historically been signs of elegance and grace, and their reputations are well earned. So why not just follow the trends of history? Why go with something new? Why choose tungsten for your ring, locket, or bracelet?

As Bob Dylan so famously put it, “The times they are a changin’. ” We’re living in the twenty-first century, and it’s time to embrace the new materials that scientists and engineers have spent so long hoarding for less aesthetic purposes. Tungsten is the hardest, most durable metal on earth. Unlike gold and silver, which are easily tarnished and lose their luster through the years, a piece of tungsten jewelry will never be parted from its shine. It’s an industrial metal designed for the heaviest tasks redesigned with beauty and charm in mind. Simply put, a tungsten ring is forever.

And that’s a great thing. If you’re going to put the time and effort in choosing the perfect piece of jewelry for a special occasion, why would you go for anything less than forever? Your jewelry should be like your memories - there’s no reason to ever let them fade. With a tungsten ring that’s one thing you never need to worry about. Take a hammer to a tungsten ring and it’s the hammer that’ll be sorry - not that any of the experts recommends that you do this, of course.

With a well selected tungsten ring you get all of the good from classic metals with even more features. You get the luster of a polished silver or titanium without the need to ever worry about regular maintenance. You get the elegance of gold but a hardness much closer to diamond. A piece of tungsten jewelry can withstand the test of time and be with you for the rest of your life.

A tungsten ring can be thought of as a solid investment into your future. Want a ring that’ll last as long as the gemstone it keeps? Done. These pieces of jewelry make great heirlooms that can be passed down the family for generations. And all without losing their polish, without bending out of shape, without dents or dings or marred surfaces. These rings are an icon of solidity and bear symbolism of a steadfast and eternal mountain.

Tungsten rings and jewelry are perfect for a variety of occasions and purposes. Whether chosen as a wedding ring or for a sign of lasting friendship, tungsten rings are a modern answer to the age-old search for elegance and grace.

One of the best ways to add some flair to an otherwise standard tungsten carbide ring is to put in an additional precious metal. While gold typically provides some kind of a contrast due to the wildly different color, this isn’t always a desirable thing. Gold inlays sometimes detract from the overall look and feel of the tungsten ring if they aren’t done properly, which is why the buyer must especially beware when choosing one. However, this issue is completely avoided by going for a white gold inlay. The product being reviewed this week is one such tungsten ring which is currently available over at Amazon.

This beauty of a ring has a real classy look. The broad band which runs through the center is a bit lighter than the darker tungsten hues, which adds a kind of subtelty to the ring. This adds to the elegance normally provided by a tungsten ring in the first place, resulting in an absolutely fantastic overall piece. The white gold used in this particular model is a 14k alloy, meaning that it’s not too soft. You still need to be a bit careful, though. As with any inlay ring, the other metal is definitely softer and more susceptible to scratches than the tungsten metal. With a little care, though, this isn’t an issue. Overall, I give a definitive thumbs up to this particular inlay tungsten ring for its grace and its charm. If only all inlays could do as well as this one!

Tungsten rings with inlaid metal or ceramic bands are a major staple of this section of the jewelry industry. Almost always you’ll find them with the non tungsten band wrapped around the ring, creating the look of three (or more) seperate sections. This gives the ring a classy look and really makes you stand back and admire it. However, not all inlay tungsten carbide jewelry follows this classic tradition. One of these others is the Basium, an offering by Tungsten Collection.

The Basium offers an unique and elegant approach to the inlay category. The black zircona bands run vertically, a far cry from the more common horizontal band. Tungsten rings are all about being unique, so this works really well. Zirconia is another tough ceramic material, so it does not degrade from the mechanical strength of the ring. This means that it is not liable to be scratched like other softer metals. Overall, the Basium is a great addition to the inlay tungsten ring category. Don’t feel like you’re confined to the horizontal inlay!

One of the largest online vendors of tungsten carbide rings is Titanium Kay, and not without good reason. They have many strengths as a vendor, but quite a few weaknesses as well.

Selection

I found the selection of tungsten rings at Titanium Kay to be a little limited. Yes, they do have 90 different varieties, but my impression was that many of these were just reiterations of a single common theme. If you’re in the market for the smooth polished variety, then you’re in luck. Likewise if you like inlaid tungsten rings, or one’s with mixes of tungsten and ceramic. But many other common categories were absent, or barely represented. I found that their supply of tungsten rings with gemstone inclusions was practically nonexistent. They had a few rings with diamond inclusions, but that was about it. Their supply of laser engraved or grooved rings were strong, but this was balanced by their absolute lack of faceted rings. They did have a few interesting variations with carbon fiber inlays though that definitely caught my attention as unique. Whether they appear gaudy or classy is up to you, though.

Site Navigation

I was a little unimpressed by the site navigation at Titanium Kay. They had two large category groups on the left side of the page, after which they let you wade through page after page of unsorted rings. Yes, unsorted. And with no options to sort. Maybe I’m a little spoiled, but I found it a bit difficult to sift through all of their tungsten rings without such a feature.

Variety

Where Titanium Kay shines is in their offer of designer tungsten jewelry from big name suppliers like Lamborghini. In addition to this, they also offered many alternative tungsten jewelry products like bracelets, lighters, and money clips. This helps round out their site to help the general consumer.

Overall

Overall, Titanium Kay struck me as a good but not great tungsten rings vendor. Their products are quality, but finding them is difficult. They have great choices, but only in certain categories. So browse their wares with this in mind. If you’re looking for a faceted or gemstone embedded ring, you probably want to look elsewhere.

This week I’d like to call your attention to an absolutely beautiful ring from the experts over at Tungsten World. They call this beauty the ‘Prism,’ and I have to say it delivers elegance like few other rings do. I’ve posted a picture of it below:

What I love most about this ring is that the facets are even and that they extend all across the band. This gives the ring a really masculine feeling. It’s like somebody finally made argyle cool. The multiple even facets will make this ring sparkle much like its namesake. The Prism would make a great gift no matter what the occasion. Due to its exceptional quality and shine, I wouldn’t be too surprised if some of you out there considered it as a wedding band. As a unique piece, you’ll never forget it. Take a gander in better detail over at the manufacturer’s website if you have an interest.

If it’s time to tie the knot I’m sure that you’ve got a lot on your mind. Between planning the location, the food, the music, and sending invitations, it might be easy to lose sight of the little, but important details. ‘Don’t worry about it, we’ll just go for a simple band of gold,’ shouldn’t really be a good approach to something that you’ll have for the rest of your life. When going for wedding bands, make sure you sit and think about what it means and what you want.

Why Tungsten?

Tungsten rings are forever, just like the vows that you plan to make. A tungsten wedding ring says as plain as the eye can see that when you say ‘I do’ it really is for life. They’re elegant and modern, and really stand out, making your wedding band unique. Tungsten is the new standard for quality in the industry, and it shows your commitment to quality and love in your relationship.

The Weight of Tungsten

One nice aspect of a tungsten carbide wedding ring is the physical weight of it. It’s a constant reminder both to you and your spouse that your relationship is something real and permanent. It’s something that you can feel every day no matter where you are, like a bedrock of confidence that stays with you. It’s not something that can easily be slipped off and discarded.

A Lifetime Guarantee

Most tungsten wedding rings out there come with a lifetime guarantee. This is exactly the same thing that you’re offering to the one you love when you take those vows and enter marriage. What better way to symbolize those vows than with the simple grace of a tungsten ring?

Variety Is The Spice Of Life

What really puts it over the top in terms of tungsten wedding rings is the sheer variety out there. They’ve got rings for every budget and taste, from diamond embedded extravagances to simple polished models. Some have inlays of other metals, another great symbol of your new marriage. Just like you and your spouse are now intertwined and inseparable, so are the metals in your wedding rings.

Symbolism and Joy

Your marriage is sure to be joyous, something you’ll celebrate for the rest of your life. Why not choose a ring that shares the same symbolism, the timeless, indestructible tungsten carbide wedding ring.

There are many videos out there attempting to show off the amazing physical properties of tungsten rings. But what do they actually show, and what do they actually prove? The Tungsten Rings Guide seeks to answer these questions by going over the most easily found videos to seperate out the good from the bad.

The Hammer Test

This video attempts to compare tungsten rings against platinum and titanium rings using a standard run-of-the-mill hammer. The claw end of the hammer is used to strike the edge of each ring 5 times. Well, the video is pretty self explanatory so give it a shot. It runs long at close to 6 minutes, so feel free to fast forward a bit if you find your attention lagging.

Tungsten - 1, Platinum - 0, Titanium - 0

The Good and the Bad

I’ve gotta admit, watching that hammer strike the precious metal rings I had to cringe a little. I mean, platinum and titanium aren’t that great compared to tungsten, but that doesn’t mean I want to see them destroyed!

One thing I noted when watching this long long video was how easily the other two metals were dinged. It didn’t seem like the demonstrator was really hitting it as hard as he could. What this means is that the force required to ding platinum or titanium isn’t really that high. These rings are generally bought for really special occasions, like wedding bands or promise rings, so to see them that easily damaged really isn’t all that encouraging. If I had one of my most precious possessions damaged doing routine housework or while repairing something, I’d be pretty upset.

The tungsten ring on the other hand showed no damage whatsoever. I kinda wanted the demonstrator to show us the hammer at the end - I’d bet that it didn’t like coming up against tungsten! This means that a slip-up while working on some project or while nailing in a picture isn’t going to damage the ring. That’s encouraging to me. I’m not the handiest fellow, so anything to reduce the chance that I might damage a costly item is appreciated.

The Value of the Video

Where this video truly shines is in showing a clear comparison with a single test for multiple metals. We the audience can clearly see how much better the tungsten ring fares compared to the platinum or titanium pieces.

On the other hand, the length and dry tone of the video make it extremely tiresome to get through. I don’t know about you, but I found myself wanting to skip forward every couple of seconds.

The video was produced by a website looking to make a buck, too, so I’m sure they chose their best tungsten ring against some of the worse for the other two materials. I don’t think that that changes the outcome much, but you never know.

Overall, I’d give the video 3/5 stars. It’s educational, but just too boring. You can’t learn anything if you fall asleep, afterall.

Many types of tungsten rings are available out there, so how do you choose the one which is best for you? For tungsten rings manufacturers produce a whole slew of different varieties, including beveled, domed, inlaid, brushed, and grooved rings, in addition to the standard smoothly polished type. With great variety comes the need to make many decisions. Remember, a tungsten carbide ring last a lifetime, so it’s important to make sure that you’re picking the one you really want.

One of my favorite varieties is the faceted tungsten ring. What makes these special is that they’ve been cut using a special diamond blade in order to create a gem-like feel to the ring. The ring is still highly polished, but now it has numerous surfaces to reflect light off of, making it seem brighter. The facets can come in many varieties - some rings have only their edges faceted while others will facet the entire exterior surface. Variety is the spice of life, after all, and it allows you the consumer to pick out just the one you like. You can see a picture of what faceted tungsten rings look like just below.

Pretty cool, right? Note how the facets can be modified to fit anyone’s taste. The great thing about facets is that it adds a little character to an otherwise nearly indestructible monolithic shine. This draws attention to the ring, which can only be a good thing. After all, you want people to see that you’ve made a unique decision, right? Even a simple facet can really bring out the best in your piece of jewelry.

And the best part is that the facet edges will never dull or smooth out over the years. Even were you to take a nail file to the thing, it still wouldn’t harm the faceted surface (don’t try this at home though, folks). So you get all the charm of a unique and characterful ring with none of the worry or responsibility of regular care and maintenance.

When picking your tungsten ring, make sure that you pick one that really catches your attention, one that truly stands out in your mind. When it comes to making a unique piece of jewelry that much more unique, you can’t really go wrong with faceted tungsten rings.
